Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes (ePRO) are digital tools that allow participants to report symptoms, quality-of-life measures, and other outcomes directly, without intermediary transcription.
ePRO reduces missing data and recall bias by enabling timely capture at or near the moment outcomes occur. Many systems include reminders, branching logic, and validation checks that improve completeness and consistency. Sponsors and oversight bodies expect ePRO platforms to be validated, secure, and accessible to the intended participant population. High-quality ePRO implementation strengthens endpoint credibility and supports participant-centered trial designs.
