A Data Correction Form (DCF), also called a Data Clarification Form, is a controlled query document used to correct, confirm, or clarify clinical trial data after initial entry.
DCFs document what is being questioned, why the issue was identified, and how the resolution was determined. They create an auditable trail of changes to case report form data and support traceability during data cleaning. Proper DCF workflows improve data accuracy and reduce downstream analysis errors. Regulators expect data corrections to be justified, reviewable, and consistent with data integrity standards.
