The NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) grant awarded to qualifying U.S. cancer centers based on scientific merit and their ability to conduct coordinated, multidisciplinary cancer research.
Also known as the P30 Cancer Center Support Grant, the CCSG provides funding and infrastructure support that help NCI-designated cancer centers advance research in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care. Cancer centers receiving CCSG funding must demonstrate strong scientific leadership, organizational capabilities, research programs, shared resources, and the ability to translate basic and clinical research into improved health outcomes.
CCSG requirements also shape important aspects of cancer center clinical research operations, including protocol review and monitoring, clinical protocol and data management, data and safety monitoring, and reporting to NCI. Maintaining effective processes and reliable research data helps cancer centers demonstrate the research quality, oversight, and organizational effectiveness expected as part of NCI designation and CCSG support.
